The Margaret River region is known for its incredible breweries, making it a haven for beer-lovers.
If you count yourself among this number, you’ll love this list of craft beer breweries in the area. Make a game of hitting as many as you can in a single day, or spend some time really getting to know all of the beers at each brewery. Be sure to have a designated driver so you can really enjoy yourself!

1. Eagle Bay Brewing Co
Eagle Bay Brewing Co offers spectacular views of the coastline and countryside, giving you something to look at while you drink. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and can guide you through your tasting of the brewery’s beers. If you don’t have time to try them all, be sure to at least sample the brand’s popular pale ale.
2. Black Brewing Co
Black Brewing Co also features a waterfront location for beautiful views while you enjoy your brews. The brewery offers a range of beer styles. They are all made with care and attention to detail and are definitely all worth a taste. The Bao Bao Milk stout is a must-try for those who love malty beers.
3. Bootleg Brewery
For a more rustic atmosphere, be sure to check out Bootleg Brewery, located inland from the coast. The lineup includes five beers and a delectable cider, so do your best to work your way through them all. Start with the Raging Bull. It packs a whopping 7.1 per cent ABV, so you’ll want to pace yourself after that one!
4. The Beerfarm
As you might have guessed from the name, The Beerfarm brewery features a rural farm setting, and the atmosphere is relaxed and casual. Although it is a bit out of the way, this Margaret River brewery boasts one of the largest beer menus. The showstopper here is the La Maison Blackberry Saison, made with fresh blackberries from the neighbouring Berry Farm.
5. Cheeky Monkey Brewery & Cidery
With its own lake, Cheeky Monkey Brewery & Cidery is certainly one of the more picturesque spots on this list of the best breweries in Margaret River. It has an on-site restaurant, so you’ll have plenty to eat while enjoying the brewery’s many award-winning beers. Most come in at 5 per cent ABV or higher, so be sure to take your time at this one! We recommend trying the Cheeky IIPA.
6. Cowaramup Brewing Company
The Cowaramup Brewing Company offers a bit of something for everyone, with a porter, IPA, ale, hefeweizen and pilsner in its lineup. The Lightsign Ale is a sure crowd-pleaser that will have everyone in your group coming back for more. Located out in the country, this Margaret River brewery offers panoramic views of the open plains from the spacious outdoor patio.
7. Colonial Brewing Co
Colonial Brewing Co is one of the hottest breweries in Margaret River right now, offering incredible ciders and sour beers. If the classics are more your speed, be sure to try the Pale Ale, which is an easy-drinking staple beer no one should be without. The rural location makes for a laid-back atmosphere, and the staff members are always on hand to answer your questions and tell you more about the brews.
8. Brewhouse Margaret River
The Brewhouse Margaret River is located closest to the city, making it a must-visit for anyone passing through the area. This brewery also features one of the largest menus, with eight brews in rotation. Don’t miss the hoppy 8 Ball Double IPA, which packs a whollop with 8 per cent ABV and strong flavours.
