This game is one of the easiest games you’ll find on the Beer Is OK drinking game list. With a total of 5 cards each, players take turns challenging each other and flipping to see who has the highest number. This game continues until there is one player left who is announced the winner of the game.
How to play 5 Card
Step 1:
The dealer provides 5 cards to each player face down. Players arrange these cards in a straight line in front of them. The excess cards are placed in the middle of the table to be used during the drinking game.
Step 2:
Starting with the player to the left of the dealer, pick someone to challenge. Both players then flip a card of their choice and compare the results. The person with the lowest number drinks the difference.
Eg. if one player flips a 9, and the other player flips a 4, the player who flipped the 4 consumes 5 sips of their beer.
The winner of that round then grabs a card from the remaining deck (without looking) and places it face down to replace the previously flipped card. If both players flipped the same card, neither drink and they both receive new cards. Then it is the next players turn (person to the left of current player).
This continues until only one person remains with at least one card face down. They are declared the winner.
Step 3:
The card values for aces, picture cards and jokers are as follows:
- Jack: 10
- Queen: 10
- King: 10
- Ace: 11
- Joker: Opponent drinks their number (you automatically win)
Note: If two players flip a card with the value of 10, the player with the higher card in the classic order of 10 being the lowest, king highest, must take 1 sip.
Also if two players both flip a joker, the whole table finish their respective drinks.
