Whalebone Brewing Co. brewery review

Whalebone Brewery in Exmouth bar entrance.

The chilliest pub on earth.

When you walk into Whalebone Brewing, you are instantly happier. Exmouth itself is an awesome place, which attracts thousands of tourists each year from around June to September. This is when the weather is perfect for all of Exmouth’s water activities, including swimming with whale sharks & other sea life, fishing, diving and snorkelling along the World Heritage-listed Ningaloo Coast.

This is also the best time of year to kick back with a few beers at Whalebone.

Whalebone Brewing Co bar.

The brewery name comes from the many whales that frequent the Ningaloo Coast throughout the year, and there are even have a few actual whale bones around the bar. There is an unassuming rustic shed which houses the brewery and bar, with all outdoor seating for patrons on timber tables and benches.

The large outdoor area has a stage, with regular live music on offer. Check out their Facebook page to see who is playing while you are there. There is also a sandpit and play area for kids. Dogs are most welcome and you will find plenty of our furry friends at the venue.

We were last in Exmouth for two weeks and spent a big chunk of time at Whalebone, it’s just so cool. The brewery is kind of hidden down a side street, set back from the main road, walking distance from town.

Craft beers at Whalebone Brewing

Awesome beers. We drank a lot of the Lighthouse Larger, which is the perfect drink on the hot Exmouth days. The Big Bone IPA was also a winner when looking for something a little more complex. The other favourite is the alcoholic Ginger Beer – so tasty and easy to drink a million of them as the sun goes down.

You can fill up your growler or purchase some takeaway cans for the boat the next day.

Pizza selection

Pizza menu selection at Whalebone.

You want food? Pizza it is!

The pizza oven churns out loads of delicious pizzas in record time, with plenty of options (including vego & gluten-free). You gotta fight the flies for your pizza, who are very friendly until sundown.
