Going on a brewery tour is a great way to learn more about the local craft beer scene here in Perth.
We are so lucky to have so many amazing local breweries from down south in Esperance, all the way up to Broome and beyond. With so many options, it can become difficult to select just one Perth brewery to visit.
Lucky for you, Perth is also home to a range of fun and helpful brewery tour providers who know where to find the best Perth breweries. So, grab your friends, get in touch with a local brewery tour provider, and sample several amazing breweries in a single day.
And don’t forget the best part, you and your mates won’t have to drive!
Finding a brewery tour
To find the best Perth brewery tour to suit your group, what you want and what locations you want to visit, it is always a good idea to ask around at your favourite local breweries.
The next time you stop into your local brewery or beer venue for a pint, ask the bartender if the brewery is featured on any tours. If you like that particular brewery, there is also a good chance that you will enjoy the other stops on the tour as well. Be sure to ask your beer-loving mates as well, as most Perth residents have likely been on a Perth brewery tour before.
But don’t stop there!
We’ve put together a list of a few of our favourite providers here in Perth that offer packaged brewery tours.
Captain Cook Cruises
Captain Cook Cruises now offer two tours that are perfect for us beer enthusiasts.
Both cruises will take you along the Swan River, showcasing beautiful views of the city between stops. The half-day Perth Microbreweries & Lunch Cruise stops at three breweries/beer venues:
- The Old Swan Brewery & Riverside Brewhouse
- Bright Tank Brewery
- The Camfield
The ticket includes a beer tasting at each location. You’ll also enjoy a delicious lunch onboard the ship after the first brewery tour stop.
For a full-day experience, try the Fremantle Craft Beer Tour and Swan River Sightseeing Cruise. In addition to two stops at some of the area’s best craft breweries, you’ll also enjoy incredible sightseeing from the boat, as well as a walking historical tour of Fremantle.
The full-day tour from Captain Cook Cruises stops at:
- Monk Craft Brewery Kitchen
- Little Creatures Brewery

You’ll also get behind-the-scenes access to learn more about how the beer is made. The air-conditioned buses offer free Wi-Fi, so you can stay connected between stops and post great photos from your journey as you go.
With a focus on small groups and an immersive experience, you’ll absolutely love your next brewery tour with Hidden deTours.
Top Gun Tours
Grab your friends and jump on board Top Gun Tours for one of the best brewery tours through Perth’s Swan Valley.
Top Gun will guide your group through five craft breweries, showcasing some of the best beer Perth has to offer. They even offer brewery tours on Wednesday, and we’re all for drinking during the week. The brewery tour includes some beer samples and a delicious wood-fired pizza lunch.
The five Perth breweries you’ll visit with Top Gun includes:
- Feral Brewing Company
- Ironbark Brewery
- Elmar’s in the Valley
- Mash Brewing
- Duckstein Brewery
If you’re not a Perth local, believe us when we say that these breweries are not to be missed. Each features their own unique range of beer’s brewed at location, with tasting paddles to keep your taste buds tingling all day.
Even the best Perth brewery tours can get wild
The goal for any brewery tour is for you and your mates to have a good time, and your tour operator will likely take care of many of the details.
However, there are still some things you can do to ensure you have a memorable experience.
For starters, be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the journey. While it may be a bit difficult with all that beer in your stomach, it will help you power through the entire tour without feeling like rubbish by the end of it.
It’s also a good idea for you and your mates to watch out for each other.
You may all be adults, but it’s amazing how common sense can go out the window after a few pints. Before you leave each stop, make sure everyone in your group has left the pub and is still feeling all right. The last thing you want is for someone to get lost along the way!
